Setting UP and Enrolling in Multifactor Authentication
For this setup, you will need both your Mobile Phone and access to a computer. You should also know your email password. If you are unsure of it, you can reach out to the IT Department ([email protected]) for assistance.
Before you begin, if you are using a personal mobile device ensure you have the Microsoft Authenticator app installed on your phone. If it is available for free from both the Apple APP Store and Google Play Store
- On your computer open any browser and go to the site Https://AKA.ms/MFAsetup
- Enter your ****@Edisonhhc.com email and password when prompted.
- The next screen that appears will prompt for “More information required” click next
- Click next, to confirm you have downloaded the Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store.
The next screen that appears will be a QR Code at this time you will need to open the Microsoft authenticator on your Mobile phone.
On your Mobile Device
- Open Microsoft Authenticator
Select Add account
If you get prompted “Recovery will be disabled on this device” click next
Select Add Work or School Account
Select Scan QR Code
- Ensure push notifications are enabled Click “Go to settings
- Select notifications then move the slider to allow notifications
- And point the phone’s camera at the Barcode displayed on the screen
You should get a notification "Account added Successfully".
- Now that the account has been added you will need to click approve on your mobile device
Next, you will need to enter your Mobile number as a secondary Authentication method
- Enter your mobile phone number, if you select text verification then enter the code that is texted to your device, if you selected phone call, answer the phone call and confirm by pressing the digit required that you approve.
You should now see the message below Click Next, you are now successfully enrolled in MFA.
Click the Done after verifying your authentication methods.
